WOMEN CELL

The Women Cell is committed to creating and maintaining an educational environment free from discrimination and conduct that can be considered harassing, coercive, or disruptive. We aim to uphold women’s rights and ensure their safety and dignity on campus.

The primary objective of the Women Cell is to address complaints related to sexual harassment and to facilitate a gender-friendly atmosphere where students, faculty, and staff can work together in a harmonious environment.

The Women Cell addresses a wide range of issues, including:

  • Sexual harassment (physical, verbal, or non-verbal)
  • Gender-based discrimination
  • Stalking and bullying
  • Unfair treatment based on gender
  • Sexual violence

If you believe you have been subjected to any form of gender discrimination or sexual harassment, we encourage you to report the incident promptly. The university assures that prompt action will be taken on the complaints.

The Women Cell comprises faculty and staff committed to promoting a safe and respectful environment for women on campus. The current committee members are:

The International Women’s Day celebration was celebrated on the 14th of March, 2024. Kicked off with the welcome speech by Distinguished Visiting Professor, set the stage with insights on women’s impact at DUK. The other significant addresses included the warm welcome by the Registrar and the inauguration by Divya S Iyer IAS. The audience was treated to ‘Ignite talk’ by Ragashree D Nair and an invigorating invited talk by Sheeba Basil. The Women Cell Chairperson presented the session’s wrapping-up address, after which it was an hour of networking, filled with refreshments. Chaitanya Hospital added a dimension to wellness by offering free eye check-ups for every invitee, taking care of their health dimension, and adding energy to women’s success.
